CHARLES LINDBERGH: A GRANDMOTHER'S "AIR MAIL" LETTER TO HER GRANDSON CARRIED BY CHARLES LINDBERGH ON HIS LAST FLIGHT AS A MAIL PILOT, BETWEEN CHICAGO, ILLINOIS AND ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, FEB. 1, 1928.
Appleton, Wisconsin: Private Mail, 1928. Manuscript. This is a cheaply-framed handwritten letter from a Roy Henk's Grandmother in Appleton, Wisconsin, to her Grandson, in Menasha, Wisconsin. Also present is the original envelope, with Lindbergh Air Mail stamp affixed to top right corner, the Chicago to St. Louis horseshoe lettered: "LINDBERGH AGAIN FLIES THE AIR MAIL", and the postal dated rubber stamp image, dated eight days before the flight -- a deadline existed whereby people desiring their letter to be on board the Lindbergh-piloted flight, had to have their letters arrive at a certain location by a certain date in order to make it onto the Lindbergh flight. Very Good. Item #88565
