The sensational trial for abduction and assault was the result of a love affair gone awry. Mrs. Lee, the plaintiff, claimed that she had been abducted by Lonsdale Gordon and his brother, this pamphlet's author. Both were ultimately acquitted., but it appears an apology was warranted.
