Blue topstain. Untrimmed fore- and bottom edges. Light rubbing to extremities; cloth weak at top of spine. Top corners lightly nudged. Light spotting to fore-edge. Illustrator Hugh Thomson (1860 – 1920) was born at Coleraine near Derry, Ireland. He is best known for his elaborate color paintings and pen-and-ink illustrations of works by authors such as Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and J. M. Barrie - and of course, William Shakespeare. Thomson inaugurated the Cranford School of Illustration in 1891.
